Chad NelsonChad Nelson is a high school art teacher at Brandon Valley High School; teaching beginning through advanced art courses. Nelson, a Sioux Falls native, attended Augustana College and graduate with a BA in Art/Art Education. After graduating, Nelson began teaching art in various schools and working in retail managemnt. During this time (1996-2004) he did little to no art work. In 2004, after a four year hiatus, Nelson returned to teaching at Brandon Valley High School with renewed energy, focus, love for Art and love for teaching. His work tends to focus on his spirituality, children, students, and aspects of the Stone Age, Science, and learning.Watercolor, silverpoint, and printmaking are Nelson's primary media of choice but he also works in deramics, mobiles, and woodworking. Nelson was a member of the Common Ground Artist's Group and has taken part in many of their shows over the last few years. Nelson has been a featured artist at Adaptation Gallery and has participated in many shows at the Washington Pavillion.
