Shane JuhnkeA South Dakota native, sculptor Shane Juhnke, has created thousands of original pieces. His work can be found in art collections across the 50 states and abroad. Since beginning his sculpting career in 1991, Shane now owns and runs Prairiewind Sculpture.His work varies in style from realism to abstract modernism, and contemporary to western. His sculpture projects have included large wall art, free standing sculptures, furniture, garden ornaments, gates, art hardware, fountains, candelabras and a variety of additional decorative items. Shane is a certified welder and tool and die maker who is experienced in working with steel, cast iron, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, brass, bronze, chrome, plastics, wood, glass, clays and plaster. “ I think it enhances the overall quality of life when people are exposed to a diverse body of artwork and creativity during their everyday activities.” Shane has worked successfully with both private parties and corporate organizations, assisting them in turning their mission, vision and values into pieces of art. “I enjoy playing with new shapes, colors, and techniques and understanding how they affect the mood of a piece.
